Green Street Friends

“My Alma mater was books, a good library… I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity.”

Malcolm X

Green Street Friends Library & Book Club

Hello and welcome to the Green Street Friends Library web. We encourage you to look out for our book club discussions held usually the fourth Sunday of the month from 12:30pm-2:30pm in our Social Room, unless otherwise noted, as well as future activities.

Our book discussions have been rich and are open to all whether you have read the book or not.

The Book Discussion Group will discuss Ta-Nehisi Coates’, The Water Dancer on Jan. 12, 2020 after Hospitality. Note change of date for this discussion.

In the future we hope to have story telling for children and adults, and guest speakers and local authors on a variety of literary topics. We are also working on organizing our library so folks can take out books or just sit in the library and read with a cup of tea or coffee. Our Library is located in the Jones room, off of the kitchen downstairs. Come and visit.

Green Street Friends Book Catalog

Former member Tom Hardy worked hard to catalog our meeting's book collection. Furthermore, he published our book catalog online at the Green Street Meeting Library Thing.

Library Thing is a social networking web where members list their book collections online, allowing people to search for members that share similar tastes in books. Membership is free for casual readers (under 200 books); really serious readers pay a lifetime fee of $25; in between is a $10 one year membership. According to Rita of the PYM Library, fourteen Meetings have listed their books on Library Thing.

Check it out! Search our catalog for a book! It's easy - because Tom did the hard part. Thanks Tom!
